The Company’s efforts to support education in the regions aims to resolve the problem of a lack of places at kindergartens, improve the quality of equipment at educational institutions and also develop higher educational institutions.

In 2014, the Company implemented a number of projects to renovate educational institutions: the Children’s Creativity Centre was repaired in the Omsk Region city of Tara and assistance was provided to two kindergartens in Omsk and five educational institutions in the Orenburg Region villages of Berdyanka, Chkalov and Kuvay.

Providing support to universities, the Company has invested in the development of the material base of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping in St Petersburg and Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University in Novorossiysk.

Gazprom Neft and the Omsk Region Government have concluded a partnership agreement in higher education. The goal of cooperation is to train young professionals. As part of the agreement, the Company opened a core department at Omsk State Technical University. This will offer graduates the opportunity to work at Gazprom Neft oil refining enterprises after graduation.

The Company provides support to programmes and initiatives that aim to educate the young generation of professionals straight out of school. In 2014, Gazprom Neft organised the first Olympiad for schoolchildren of the cities of St Petersburg and Tyumen on exact and natural sciences that aims to development knowledge in the oil and gas industry.

In St Petersburg, the Company in cooperation with the Maritime Council under the St Petersburg Government provides methodological assistance to government general educational institutions in creating specialised classes and organising work by a network of children’s, teenagers’ and youth maritime and shipbuilding organisations.

At the Marinesko Submarine Forces History Museum in St Petersburg, a new 3D multimedia demonstration system appeared that is designed to expand the range of tour programmes for the younger generation.
