As part of the “Hometowns” programme, the Company provides support for cultural activities and initiatives that are important to the residents of the regions in which it operates.
A series of events united by the common theme of developing creative industries in Russia took place during the reporting year jointly with the research centre of the Calvert 22 Charity Foundation and the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St Petersburg State University. The events included a contest of social entrepreneurial projects in culture and art among students of the department. The contest winners received funds to implement their ideas.
The “Noyabrsk-Hometown” festival, which is held to develop family recreation, offered a new type of format for the Company’s social project. The festival was attended by roughly 4,000 people.
Gazprom Neft traditionally serves as a partner for one of the main cultural events of Yugra — the “Spirit of Fire” Film Debut Festival — as well as the “The Sea Calls” International Film Festival of Sea and Adventure Films in St Petersburg.
Gazprom Neft provides financial support to the Shostakovich St Petersburg Academic Philharmonia, the Russian Geographical Society and the Historical Shipbuilding Shipyard. The Company is a regular partner of the annual “Sails of St Petersburg Youth” photo contest and the “Sea Wreath of Glory: Sailors Serving the Fatherland” historical and patriotic competition.
In Kaliningrad, the Company provided support for the “Fisherman’s Day” holiday, which is an important event in the city’s life and is celebrated each year as a professional holiday.
