Cities for People

An important area of the social activities of Gazprom Neft in the regions in which it operates is the creation of a high-quality urban environment that provides the same opportunities as large towns and cities. The Company’s urban development projects include the construction and repair of housing, the improvement of urban areas and the construction of outdoor play areas for children.

The Company pays special attention to the problems of a housing shortage and housing conditions in the regions where it works. In 2014, construction was completed on a 27-apartment building in the Tomsk Region village of Parabel for public sector workers. The Company acquired four apartments for public sector workers in the Uvatsky District of the Tyumen Region.

Another important area of the Company’s support for housing construction is funding for the construction of homes for indigenous people of the North. In 2014, three new buildings with 57 apartments were commissioned in the village of Novy Port (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District).

The Company also provides assistance with high-quality courtyard infrastructure, particularly for families with children. In 2014, playgrounds were built with the support of Gazprom Neft in the Orenburg Region villages of Blagoslovensk and Platovka in addition to two playgrounds in Omsk.

One of the most pressing problems facing the regions is access to high-quality medical care, therefore Gazprom Neft’s social investments include healthcare institutions as well. The Company renovated a local hospital in the Orenburg Region village of Karavanny during the reporting year and provided aid to two hospitals in upgrading their material and technical base.
